Surgery
Believe it or not, having surgery can impact my ability to write, especially when said surgery involves my hands.
In the spring of 2003, I tore a tendon in my thumb, and had to have surgery to fix it. No pictures for this one :-) I'm stuck in a cast again for a few weeks, so my typing speed will be a bit slow for a while.
In the spring of 2001, I had joint replacement surgery on my right hand. Then, in the spring of 2002, I had the left hand done. If you're curious about such things, I have a page showing before and after pictures.
